IAV Technology
A three-stage thermal intervention.
Cyclic steam injection, identified here by its Spanish initials IAV, transfers heat to the near-well environment. The physical objective is to reduce crude-oil viscosity and support mobility, always according to the specific conditions of each application.
The cycle
Injection. Soak. Production.

Injection
Steam is introduced into the well for a period defined by the intervention design.

Soak
Heat is distributed through the target zone to support a reduction in crude-oil viscosity.

Production
The well returns to production and its behavior is assessed through operational measurements.
What changes physically
Temperature, viscosity and mobility.
As steam condenses, it transfers heat to the formation and fluids near the well. Higher temperature can reduce crude-oil viscosity and support its movement.
The response is not uniform. It depends on reservoir properties, well configuration and operating conditions.
Judgment before application
Technical assessment precedes the cycle.
There is no single response for every well. Scope must be defined from verifiable information and field conditions.
